About The Spark

Launched in March 2024, The Spark is an ad-free, independent, public interest media service covering the Shoalhaven region. Subscribe for FREE to get full reading access to The Spark website containing stories emailed directly to subscribers Monday to Friday.

The Spark publishes reader-driven content without affiliation to any political, business, religious or other institution. Knowledge is power and everyone should have unfettered access to reliable information about the decisions affecting our home and future.

The Spark aims for clear, accessible writing, imagery or audio about the whole gamut of life in the Shoalhaven. We want subscribers to be 'in the know' without scrolling, trolling or paywalls creating unnecessary barriers between people and knowledge.

We hope The Spark will ignite curiosity and trigger conversations that connect our diverse Shoalhaven community. We are especially keen to convince young people to engage with local issues and events via our youth-oriented Next Wave section.

The Spark's posts are currently FREE to all subscribers and publicly available on our website. Your subscription makes this site possible and allows The Spark to exist. The more subscribers we gain, the more content we can provide.
